Determine Legit Charities
You can check out legitimate charities on www.irs.gov and do their search under Charities and Non Profits.
After many crises last year, numerous charities quickly popped up to prey on people’s big hearts and pocketbooks.
Three groups put large, general interest charities under the microscope: www.charitywatch.org, www.give.org and www.charitynavigator.org.
These watchdogs are non profits themselves and use different standards for their reviews, so it’s a good idea to check them all.
